Are you looking for an outdoor game that:
- Can be enjoyed equally by boys and girls as well as children and adults
- Is portable enough that it can be enjoyed in the backyard as well as taken on camping trips, holidays and
family picnics
- Is durable enough to handle literally hundreds of knocks?
If YES....Then Klop is the game for you!
We are thrilled to be able to introduce you to this fantastic log tossing game from Finland and wholeheartedly believe that Klop is a 'must have' for any Aussie backyard.
There are very few games out there that can be real fun for all children as well as a hit amongst the adults...This quirky challenge is definitely one of them.
The object of the game is to knock individual logs over in a race to be the first player to get a score that equals EXACTLY 50. Sounds simple, but this game is strategic enough that it will even get the competitive juices and grey matter of adults working. Kids will enjoy utilising their mathematical skills in a real life setting and even being able to beat the grown ups!
All you need is at least 2 players however, the more the merrier, so despite the number of friends your littlie (or you for that matter) have over, Klop can be enjoyed by everyone.
So How Do You Play?
Set Up: Mark a line and set the pegs 3-4m in front of the line (in a formation similar to 10 pin bowling)
Playing: Each player takes turns to throw the 'chuck' underarm at the pegs, taking care to aim at either the precise peg they want (dependent on the score value of the peg) or in attempt to knock down a certain number of pegs at a time. Knocked down pegs are stood up again in the position they have fallen before the next player begins their turn. Note: Pegs are often scattered on being knocked down so, as they are stood up with each player's turn, the playing field is constantly changing and posing new challenges for the next player.
Scoring: If more than one peg is knocked over, you score 1 point for each peg knocked over. If a single peg is knocked over, you score the number on that particular peg. (Pegs are numbered 1-12) If no pegs are hit, you score a 'strike'. (If you score 3 strikes in a row, you are out of the game.)
Winning: The first player to score EXACTLY 50 points wins. If you go over 50, your score goes back to 25 and the next player takes their turn.
This simple game is seriously addictive and has to be tried to see just how funny, frustrating, competitive and strategic it can be. The biggest problem you will have is trying to convince the kids to take a break so the adults can have a go!
Beautifully presented in a wooden carry case, it is portable enough to be enjoyed literally anywhere...So hop to it and KLOP IT!!!!
